Green bag pattern...

I've had a number of people ask me for my pattern so I've posted it here.

Easy String Bag

Written for worsted weight, ( ) is for thinner cotton.

Cast on 8 stitches. Transfer evenly to 4 size 10.5 (7) double points OR circular with a long cable.

round 1: *k1, yo* repeat to end of round. Mark the end of the round if you
have not already.
round 2 and every even round: k1 round
round 3: *k1,yo,k3,yo* repeat to end of round
round 5: *k1,yo,k5,yo* repeat to end of round
round 7: *k1,yo,k7,yo* repeat to end of round

Switch to size 10.5 (7) circular, if using DPs, when convenient.
Continue knitting 1 round on evens, and increasing on the odds, as in previous rounds until you have 120sts.

knit 3 rounds plain.

Switch to size 15 (11) circular needle

next round: *k2tog, yo* repeat to end of round
next round: knit 1 round.
Repeat these last two rows until bag is desired length (about 12 inches…remember…it’s STRETCHIE).

Switch to size 10.5 (7) circular needle

next round : *(k2tog) k9 * repeat to end of round (delete this step if you want a larger opening).

Work in garter (k 1 round, P 1 round) until you have 4 ridges, ending with a purl round.

Select a handle option below.

Shoulder handle

Bind off LOOSLY all but 10 stitches.
I switch to double points here; work in garter (k 1 round, P 1 round) until you have your handle the desired length (remember… it’s STRETCHIE). Attach to opposite side of bag top and you’re done.

Clutch handles

*k 15, bind of 24 VERY LOOSELY.* repeat to end of round.
next round: *p 15, cast on 24* repeat to end of round.
Work in garter (k 1 round, P 1 round) until you have 4 ridges, ending with a purl round.
BO all sts loosely
